How to choose the right Skateboard

It's crucial to pick the right skateboard for the type of skating you desire.  Decks come in different widths. Choose your skateboard based on deck width compared to length.

There are various shapes, sizes, and materials, each designed for a specific style of skating. If you like street skating, you might prefer a smaller deck that's easy to maneuver and flip verses cruising and carving, a larger and more stable deck might be your best bet. There are four main types of skateboard decks available in the market:

  1. Standard
  2. Cruiser
  3. Old school
  4. Longboard

 1. Standard: Great for all levels of skaters. They are designed and shaped for getting air and performing tricks. These decks usually have a popsicle shape.

2. Cruiser: Ideal for a means of transportation. Longer than a standard skateboard but shorter than a longboard, it has easily maneuverable mid-length.

3. Old School: Perfect for bowl skating and transportation. The 80s style deck are wider and have longer wheelbases than standard decks.

4. Longboard: Longboarding is best suited for transportation or downhill skateboarding, and easy to balance. The longboard’s wheelbase is also wider, giving the skateboarder more control at higher speeds.
